One time a client came to me after an SEO company got them ranking in the top 3 for 10 different terms. Yet, they were only getting 10 visits a day. I bumped him up onto the 1st page for several other terms. Immediately (3 weeks after optimization), he was getting 70 visits a day AND conversions.
