Description meta tags are important because Google likes to use the page title and meta description tag in it’s search engines results pages. I agree too, but now I have this feeling that you are underestimating the others, like meta and maintext. Isn`t maintext with the right keyword dencity as much as important too? I just ask, since you probably know more about seo than I do. :)

This post is very useful for find out the correct way a blogger should organise there site for optimum SEO benefit. And i also know “title tag” is the most important piece of information you can put on your site as far as the serps are concerned, if you have the righttitle tag that maches your content and links or content that are pointing to your page then this is the perfect way to get high position in the search engines.

But it doesnt end there, H1 tags are also critical and must be addressed to ensure the correct info about the page is being give to mr google and his gang of serps.

Excellent post James. I can’t agree with you more on the importance of the title element. A lot of people under estimate the “power’ of the title element and just how crucial it is to have a well written title.
